Busy Bees Programme
Nau Mai Haere Mai!
Welcome to the Busy Bees 4½ year old Transition to School Programme.
The purpose of this programme is to support children’s readiness for school. We provide them with learning experiences which will set them up for the beginning of primary school.
It will cover important foundation skills such as:
Pre-writing skills through practice of our pincer grasp
Early numeracy practiced through songs and counting
Learning to have a listening body
Board and memory games
Small projects and problem-solving techniques
This learning will be documented in your child’s portfolio book through learning stories, as well as your child’s individual scrapbook, which will be assessable for you to view.
If you would like further information about this programme or wish to discuss your child’s learning, please see Jackie.
Buzzy Bee Book Club
For the Big Kids!
The buzzy bee book club is a fun way to help the older children get ready for school. We introduce the children to the routine they will have at school of taking home a reader and some home work in their own book bag. The children can read their book and complete their sheet over a week.
This is supposed to be relaxed and fun and get children primed for reading by discussing the pictures, using a pointing finger and memorising text.
If you are four and a half and would like to join, see Nadia.
